Got to Mersea 9am and nice to see some Felixstowe visitors on their home patch. Tony first out on 4.5m and as he must be 15kg lighter so I rigged 76l/5.2. Way overpowered on second run as some rain came so 4.7m which was good. River chop way less than I remembered. As tide turned some small swells to ride down, and chop still easy. Peter and friend stayed on 110-120l slalom gear, unsure how they managed that in strong winds.
Wind eased until rigged 5.2m but didn't try that as wind too light and too tired to rig 6m/96l, and hand still hurting after cycle accident a couple of weeks ago.
Locals are a lazy lot as 15-20 turned up late morning once tide had turned and wind dropped :-). If they rigged 6m/100l should have been fine. Ian stayed on, what an animal, and I went home aching after a second good day.
